1. What is Magento?

2. What are the powerful features of Magento?
One of the most powerful features of Magento is the ability to manage multiple websites and stores from one back-end.This allows store owners to manage stores on different URLs, display the same products in different languages on the same URL, along with a variety of other setups.

3. What technology used by Magento?
Ans: Magento uses PHP as a web server scripting language and the MySQL Database. The data model is based on the Entity-attribute-value model that stores data objects in tree structures, thus allowing a change to a data structure without changing the database definition.

4. Describe the three central tenets of Magento?
Magento is built on top of the Zend Framework. Using this framework, Magento was built with 3 central tenets in mind.
A.Flexibility: We believe each solution should be as unique as the business behind it. Magneto’s code allows for seamless customizations.
B. Upgradeable: By separating the core code from community and local customizations, Magento can be easily customized without losing the ability to upgrade.
C. Speed and Security: The coding standards used by the developers follow best practices to maximize the efficiency of the software and provide a secure online storefront.

5. What is Core code in Magento?
The core code is a collection of modules developed or certified by the Magento core development team. Editing core files is not recommended and will disable the ability to upgrade Magento in the future.

6. What is Module in Magento?
A module is an extension which extends the features and functionality of Magento. You are probably familiar with the idea of modules from other software, but if not, some concrete examples of modules would be additional payment gateway integrations, or a featured items promotional tool.

7. What is Interface in Magento?
An interface is a collection of themes that determines the visual output and frontend functionality of your store. An interface can be assigned on either the website-level, store-level or website and store level through the admin panel.

Ans: Manage Stores section, you will see website names, store names and Store View Name columns.

13. What are Bundled products?
Ans: Bundled products are those products which cannot be sold separately and doesn’t give any choice for end user.

14. What is Configurable Products?
Ans: In this type, customer can select products according to their color and size before purchasing. Example: Cell phones obtained in different colors and sizes.

15. What is grouped product?
Ans: This is a group of simple products. In this type, you cannot specify a specific price for product; you can just specify the discount.

Ans: The Page Layout section contains a Layout option which allows selecting layout as per your choice and Layout Update XML option inserts the XML code.

17. What are Static Blocks?
Ans: Static block is a piece of content can be used anywhere in the pages. Magento allows creating blocks of content that can be used through the store and can be added to any page or another block.

customers, products, and more at the same time.
To make Batch Updates to customers, navigate to Customers > Manage Customers. Select the customers individually or Select All to which you would like to make updates. When you have all the desired customers selected, chose your preferred Action from the drop-down menu, also at the top of the customers list.
